A secure messaging app for business.
End-to-end encrypted chats, groups and calls for your team, without collecting anyone's phone number, and without a messaging provider that can read along.
A lot of real work happens in chat: quotes and contracts, client details, passwords that shouldn't be in e-mail, the quick call before a decision. For many small companies that chat runs on personal consumer apps, tied to employees' private phone numbers and to a provider whose business model depends on data. Frozen Chat gives teams a private alternative: every conversation is end-to-end encrypted, accounts are usernames, and there is nothing to track.
Why teams choose an encrypted messenger
- Confidential conversations. Client information, deal terms, legal or medical details and internal plans stay readable only on your team's devices.
- No personal numbers. Staff don't have to hand their private phone number to colleagues, contractors or clients. Give out a username instead, and stop using it when the project ends.
- Less data to lose. A provider that holds no phone numbers, e-mail addresses, contact lists or IP logs has less to leak in a breach and less to hand over.
- No ads, no profiling. Frozen Chat is paid for with licence keys, so your team's activity is not the product.
What you get
- Encrypted groups on MLS (RFC 9420) with post-quantum keys, for teams, projects and clients. Group names, photos and roles are encrypted too.
- Voice and video calls, 1:1 and in groups, with keys agreed end to end.
- Files and voice messages, encrypted with a fresh key each. File size limits depend on the plan.
- Multi-device and web: link a computer by QR code and use Frozen Chat Web in the browser.
- Private notes for passwords and one-off secrets: a link that opens once and self-destructs. See self-destructing notes.
- App lock behind fingerprint or the phone's screen lock, and hidden content in the app switcher.

How licensing works for a team
Frozen Chat plans are one-time licence keys, not seats in a central account. On the pricing page you can compare plans: higher plans add more devices, bigger files, encrypted backup space, larger calls and larger groups. To equip a team:
- Buy up to 10 keys in one order on the buy page, paid with cryptocurrency. No company name, e-mail or account is needed at checkout.
- Give each person a key. Each key can be redeemed once, on any account.
- Everyone installs the app (see the getting started guide), picks a username and enters their key.
- Create your groups and share usernames or QR codes.
Nothing renews automatically. To extend someone's plan, buy for their username on the buy page, or give them another key. When a plan ends there are 7 days of grace, then the account turns read-only until renewed. Nothing is deleted.
What Frozen Chat is not
To be clear about fit: Frozen Chat is a private messenger, not an enterprise collaboration suite. There is no central admin console, no single sign-on and no server-side message archive, because the server can't read messages in the first place. If your organisation must retain and supervise communications (some regulated financial firms, for example), make sure an end-to-end encrypted messenger without archiving fits your obligations before you roll it out.
Security your team can understand
We publish a plain-language security page that lists what the server needs to see, what it can't see and the known limits. One-to-one chats use libsignal with PQXDH post-quantum keys; groups use MLS; calls use DTLS-SRTP and SFrame. Servers keep no access logs and no IP addresses. Our privacy policy and law enforcement page explain what little data exists.
Good fits
- Agencies, consultancies and freelancers sharing client material.
- Legal, accounting and advisory teams discussing confidential matters.
- Newsrooms and research teams protecting sources.
- Distributed teams and contractors who shouldn't need each other's phone numbers.
- Founders and small companies who want one private channel for sensitive topics.
